Professional mentalists Larry Becker, Christopher Caldwell, Lee Earle, Docc Hilford, Kenton Knepper, Mark Strivings, and Gene Urban used to be known as the "Arizona 6 ½" who met regularly to discuss, experiment and create mentalism and mental magic routines. All seven have published and contributed greatly to the art of mentalism and mental magic.

This three-volume set of videos features all seven men performing and explaining some of their best and most interesting creations. Each person performs their routine in front of a live audience and then explains it to the group in a session format where they kid around, ask questions and expand on the routines.

Desert Brainstorm Series Volume #1: Running time: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Routines performed and explained:
Psychometric Coins (Larry Becker): Out of your view a spectator signs one of five coins and puts them in five different envelopes. The envelopes are mixed up so nobody knows which envelope contains the signed coin. Using your psychic ability you divine which envelope contains the signed coin with 100% accuracy.
Blockbuster Video Prediction (Christopher Caldwell): Two massive movie and video guides that list the best and worst films and videos are shown. A spectator selects one of the books, picks a page and thinks of one of the highest rated movies on his page. You then show your prediction, that was in full view, which names the movie and its rating.
Intuition Times Two (Gene Urban): A spectator names a card and tells the mentalist to stop cutting the deck anytime he likes. The card stopped at is the selected card. A second spectator names a different card and inserts the first selection into the deck to find out that it is now her card. Which later changes back into the first selection.
The Shadow Cloud (Docc Hilford): One spectator freely selects a card and a second spectator looks at that card. Amazingly the card the second spectator thought they saw is missing from the deck and appears in a prediction envelope.
Con-Bination (Lee Earle): A spectator is in possession of a combination lock that he only knows how to open. You divine the correct combination, one number at a time and let a second spectator open the lock.
The Southwest Miracle (Kenton Knepper): A spectator selects a card and puts it back in the box reversed. The entire deck vanishes from the box and appears in your pocket with the selection reversed.
37 Revisited (Mark Strivings): A spectator thinks of a number and you show that you predicted it in advance.

Desert Brainstorm Series Volume #2: Running time: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Routines performed and explained:
A Case Of Simple Logic (Larry Becker): A spectator cuts the deck, takes the top card, shows it around and inserts it back into the center of the deck face up. The cards are then put back in the card case and you are able to name the selected card.
Ani-Mental: (Christopher Caldwell): Two spectators are shown photographs of animals. They each freely select one of the animals and you divine their thoughts and tell them which animal they are thinking of.
Body Talk: (Gene Urban): A spectator inserts a business card into a book to randomly select a page and thinks of a word on that page. You then supposedly divine the word they are thinking of using their body language.
The Seventh Sign (Docc Hilford): A spectator draws something on a business card and you duplicate that drawing on your own business card.
Five-Bill Miracle (Kenton Knepper): Five borrowed one-dollar bills are handed to a spectator to mix. They initial the face of one of them and mix them up face down and spread them all over the table. They then help you in discovering which bill was their selected one.
Confabulous Vacation (Mark Strivings): The audience helps in constructing an imaginary vacation by selecting the date, the people involved, what they will be doing, the length of the vacation, and the destination. You then show a postcard you received from your friends which predicted the entire trip.
Manila Miracle (Lee Earle): Five envelopes are shown and four of them are freely selected by different spectators. Every spectator wins a lottery ticket but the envelope they left you with is the only one that also contains a fifty dollar bill.

Desert Brainstorm Series Volume #3: Running time: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Routines performed and explained:
Extra Sensory Deception (Larry Becker): An entire routine where psychological forces are used to send thoughts to people in the audience, with the final thought being a two digit number that has been predicted.
Auto-Brainstorm (Christopher Caldwell): A spectator freely removes any card and reverses it in the deck. A second spectator then freely draws a card that psychically comes to her mind and it is the first spectator’s selected card.
Somewhere In Time (Gene Urban): Using some borrowed wristwatches, members of the audience mentally change the time of one of them to match the physically changed watch.
The Devil's Dice (Docc Hilford): A spectator rolls a pair of dice and writes down the numbers, he once again rolls the dice and writes the numbers of the top and bottom. Their total matches your prediction. But you also predicted every roll of the dice.
Quadravoque (Lee Earle): A spectator deals a bunch of cards into your hand from a shuffled deck. He stops at one card. That card was predicted by you.
Sock It Away (Kenton Knepper): A rolled up pair of socks are placed on the table. A spectator names what size shoe he wished he wore. He unrolls the socks, selects one, reaches inside and there is a prediction of his freely selected shoe size.
Open & Shut (Mark Strivings): A prediction is openly placed on the table. A spectator names any number from 1-52 and you count down that many cards from the top of deck. The card at the freely selected number matches your prediction.
