This is a very easy and clever penetration of a zig-zagged piece of cardboard through a pen, a finger or any object that will fit through the holes in the strip of paper. With a little effort everything can be examined before and after the performance.

The basic routine has you thread a borrowed pen through the four holes in a mysterious looking, accordion-like, cardboard strip.

Your friend firmly holds both ends of the pen, making it impossible for the strip to escape from either side.

You then cover the strip with a handkerchief and gently pull upward, as the strip penetrates through the pen.

Since the strip is basically a zig-zagged strip made of cardboard it will wear out after a few dozen performances. So, you get seven gimmicked strips and three identical looking ungimmicked ones you can hand out for examination.
