When Gary first showed me the ProControl Card I liked it, but I was already using breather cards or other similar types of crimps. But there was something special about this type of gimmick. Pro control is an excellent method for getting to the card you want with confidence. When I saw Gary’s method I was at first a bit let down. Looked way too simple. I went ahead and did as instructed and started to practice using his method. Wow! It really does work!
My first version was OK, but I made up another with tighter tolerances and it still works perfect. I felt my second attempt was just a better and cleaner. I was pleasantly surprised at this kind of result and to me proves the method even more.
Some good ideas are included and I feel this was worth getting. I know have a reliable method to control cards, and for someone like me who is at a lower skill level, it is boosting my confidence. I recommend this book
I recommend this book for the following reasons :
- It explains how to make a key card which is not new (Juan Tamariz uses it in one of his tricks), but, though it is not well known and probably rarely used, has some advantages over other key cards.
- It explains several ways to use this key card.
It's worth buying this book to know the clever method to make the key card, and because I think a lot of people will use it, including me. Note : you can do a faro shuffle with such a key card.
All is well explained (and do not forget to read the foreword by Meir Yedid, which contains a good advice).
Only one flaw : It is the fourth edition (2024) and so, I do not understand why there are some duplicate paragraphs at pages 28 and 38.
