In 2018 Michael Breggar published a routine called “Face Your Fears” that used a special deck of phobia cards that you had to make yourself. Since then, he has created many routines using the deck and now makes it available at his lectures with a custom deck and a 29-page PDF.

The Phobia deck consists of 25 brightly colored cards with various phobias and associated artwork printed on the faces. There is also 1 card that has a “no fears” comment on it. Plus, cards with a phobia list and a blank face. Some phobia cards make natural pairs (like Doctors, Illness, Germs, Needles). You get the picture ... depending on your routine the Phobia cards can be easily mixed and matched.

The original Face Your Fears routine was described as; Steinmeyer meets Freud. Your spectator looks through 25 cards which list common phobias. They find the thing that frightens them the most. After a complete shuffle of fears, they spell out the name of two phobias (which may or may not be theirs) -- but in the end, they wind up with the one card that correctly names their phobia. All the phobias are different and spell with different numbers of letters.
